Welcome to the MAKE project

One out of six young people aged 18 to 24 in the EU still leaves education with no more than a secondary education and currently participates in no form of education and training.

When young people drop out of school, this impacts significantly on the quality of their individual lives as well as the prosperity and competitiveness of their communities.

Consequently, easier access to lifelong learning must be available to all and, in particular, those with lower skills and in less favourable employment conditions. It is important to offer these young people a wide range of education and training opportunities that are tailor-made to their needs. As well as professional reintegration, training should concentrate on social skills which may be lacking for various reasons.

The  MAKE project (Measures for achieving knowledge and employment) endeavours to answer these problems by using new solutions and approaches to dealing with the problem of early school leavers. The main focus of the project is to combat the social exclusion of young people who have left school without sufficient skills. The ultimate aim is to integrate these young people in society and in to the labour market.

Our partnership network will enable the transfer of “know how”. The partners will learn from each other, contributing to a better quality of common results and outcomes of the project.

The duration of the MAKE project is from December 2009 to November 2011. The project is co-financed by the European Union within the Leonardo da Vinci programme – Transfer of Innovation.
